Web-Ready PTZ Cameras Offer Quick Installation and Satisfaction For Corporate Customers Demanding Added Security

November 9, 2001, Secaucus, NJ – As terrorist activities of all kinds continue to be in the news, corporations are looking for immediate means to beef up their security systems. But, with the economy teetering on the edge of a near-recession, they are also being pressed to watch the bottom line. Installing Web-ready CCTV cameras that piggyback on a company’s existing computer network can be an easy, economical and more-than satisfactory solution, according to Samsung Camera.

“Suddenly, we’re receiving tremendous interest in our Web-ready cameras, says Frank Polidoro, Samsung’s National Sales Manager for CCTV Systems. “They are easy to install, and offer a built in motion detection and alarm in-put. They’re perfect for additional door, gate, parking lot and public area monitoring. Corporate security officers love them, because they can dial them up from anywhere in the world though their computer browser with access to the company’s intranet.”

According to Polidoro, the web cam installations go smoothly because the Security Dealer works hand-in-hand with a company’s IT department, who will ultimately be responsible for “hosting” the communications, which can be either wired or wireless.

Now operating at near-video speeds of 30 frames per second, high quality web-ready cameras capture an alarm incident and automatically e-mail the image to authorized recipients. Samsung’s most popular cameras are their SWC-104 which is a four channel camera and server and the SWC-160, the world’s first high speed dome web camera with pan/tilt/zoom and powerful auto focus, and continuous rotation zoom tracking.

Polidoro notes that many dealers are still unfamiliar with web-ready cameras, but urges them to suggest the new devices as a means to satisfy customers’ need for a speedy and reliable answer to pressures to increase monitoring without breaking the budget. To assist them, Samsung has set up a FAQ section on the web at www.webthru.net. Here, dealers can download answers to typical questions asked by a company that is planning to put its existing computer network to work as a valuable adjunct to the security system.

“Dealers and customers need to understand how easy and effective these systems can be,” says Polidoro. “This information will help speed the sales process.”
